Any new features with RXVs?
I have a 2009 RXV and was looking at replacing it with a 2014 one. Are there any new features with the motor or controllers in the newer RXVs or should i just replace the body?

Like pop wheelies (but I don’t recommend that).

Cool. If you have any links to get me started that would be great.

Re: Any new features with RXVs?
I'm a relatively newbie here and new to RXVs. But what I've gleaned:
It's all about the Curtis controller and the hack thereof. Alter anything in the drivetrain, including wheel size, and you upset the Natural Balance of things. |

Re: Any new features with RXVs?
Well said Buggieman18...
The advantage of the Curtis controller is with the hack allowing us to get into the areas where the limits are set, we can undo many of the high end limits and turn it up pretty wild, then use a lower level handset to tune it down to as mild as desired. Which allows it to be cranked up or down without needing to hack it again. You can use a laptop and a relatively inexpensive homebrew cable to do the tuning if you don't want to buy a handset. Can't do that with the Danaher controlled RXVs. |

along with the better Curtis controller, 2014 and later have a much quieter rear end. No whining.

Re: Any new features with RXVs?
Apparently I never got the memo about being able to undo the limits because all I can do at the shop is turn the Curtis to 19.5 MPH, acceleration to 4, braking to 1, and reverse to 7 MPH.
I tried many times to get a handheld better than a 1311, but EZGO and everyone else say 'you can't do that'. Feel like our shop is not only stuck 30 years in the past most of the time, but now feel sad we can't do what you all can do. |
