Default Ezgo 1988 36v electric Too fast at first speed (resistance)

Hello everyone!

I need your help and knowledge.

I have an old Ezgo 1988 36V and it is too fast at start compared to other old ezgo with the same technology as mine for the camping

I changed the resistance kit and the solenoid without change

The accelerator pad contacts work well (1-2-3-4).

There is a "click" loud enough that is heard when the pastilles # 1 is in contact ..

Should the Solenoid be "on" when I turn the key or only when the accelerator is pressed?

Is it a bad connection of the key to the micro switch to the solenoid?

There are several schemes on the internet but they are different or otherwise, it is missing 1 side.
and on the 3 ezgo I checked the connection .. the 3 are different ..

Do you have any ideas ?

Is it normal also that the new plate with the resistances gives off a smell of burnt

Can you post some pic of under the seat, and the coils. So we can see everything. That will tell us a lot. ?. Where is the coils mounted on the cart?

the S1 A2 S2 A1 motor connection is the same of this

Only the Key switch and MS switch is some bad wiring but Can this affect the starting speed?

Attached are a parts manual for a 88 resistor drive cart and a service manual for a 86/87 resistor drive cart. The 86/87 had a split case differential while the 88 had a one piece, but other than that the drive system was the same.

The solenoid shouldn't click until the pedal is pressed, so there is a wiring issue in the solenoid activation circuit, but the cat runs, so that is a side issue.

The way the four speeds are obtained is by placing resistances in series with the armature so different amounts of voltage is applied to the armature.

There are three resistance coils, each on having a different resistance so the steps do not change the voltage drop across the resistance box linearly. This is somewhat akin to the gear ratio steps in a four speed automotive transmission are not linear steps.

There three coils are identified as Light, Medium and Heavy in the parts manual and the best I can tell from looking at the illustrated parts breakdown, wiring diagrams and schematics they are used as follows.

1st speed has Light, Medium and Heavy in series with armature.
2nd speed has Medium and Heavy in series with armature.
3rd speed has Heavy in series with armature.
4th speed has battery pack connected directly to armature.

Since the problem is the cart starts too fast in 1st speed, with has all three resistance coils in series with armature, the only logical explanation I can see is that the new coil set you installed has more than one of the Medium or Heavy coil in it.

Please post picture of actual resistance coils, the wire they are made from should be visibly different in thickness.

Unfortunately, I don't know what the Ohmic values of the three different resistance coils ought to be.
