E-Z-Go Battery cable malfunction
Hey Guys,
New to the forum but have had my cart for years, about 5... I have an older EZGO Marathon, and just recently the cart shut down. When I opened the battery compartment the last battery cable was so hot it melted the connection where you bolt the washer to the battery. Not sure why this happened it was working fine last weekend when we went camping. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Also, no other batteries were hot nor cables that I noticed, I can take pictures of the melted connection but it would seem weird when I taped the melted connection back it seemed to get hot when I charged the batteries. Thanks in advanced! JP |

Re: E-Z-Go Battery cable malfunction
It was probably loose or corroded. Resistance generates heat and it wouldn’t be abnormal for it to be in a single cable with a bad connection. I’m not sure what you meant by taping it up, but it’s not going to charge correctly unless the cable is in good shape and the connection is clean and secure.
Battery cables are the veins of your electric cart. You need to start with good quality cables and keep them clean and properly connected. |
