Default charger swap

My cart is a TXT D501 EZ-Go it has a 36 volt charger that went bad and my question is this, I have a charger 2010 Power Drive made by Lester Electrical that I used on a Club Car 48 volts. If I remove the EZ receptacle cable from the bad charger and place it into the
club car Lester charger, can I then use it on my EZ-GO cart? The Lester has a OUTPUT: 48 VDC, 17 Amps.

Nope, not gonna work. The club car charger is just a "dumb power supply box" that takes all it's instructions from the club car. The Ezgo charger makes it's own decisions about when to start up/shut down ect. Besides, how does using a 48v charger to charge 36v batteries seem like a good idea?

i was thinking of placing a jumper wire at the relay to keep the charger on and placing a timer box at the electric outlet to control run time. the ez-go puts out 16 amps the club car puts out 17 amps. I guess i will see if i can trade the 48 volt for a 36 volt.

The voltage difference would be the biggest problem, besides controlling the charge cycle. Trading it for a 36v charger (that you might have to swap plugs on) is a much better idea. All the 36v chargers control their own charge cycle, when working properly, so swapping plugs on a 36v charger is ok. On chargers, White wire is DC positive, black wire is negative, unlike how you might think of house wiring.

thanks for your time to give me a reply, heading to a couple of used golf cart shops today here in San Antonio maybe i'll luck out and find a use charger and let them have the club car charger which I have no use for it. the batteries are a year old, I have charge the batteries with my 12 volt car charger, two batteries at a time and it runs like it did when it was brand new.
