Default Repainting golf cart roof, mistake made, spray on bedliner?

I probably should have came on here before I tried it. So I scuffed up my roof, painted it black with krylon fusion, and multiple coats of clear coat. Just put it back on and chipped a few spots already!!! This is not gonna hold up in the woods!!! I’ve seen some guys are using textured spray bedliner. How well is yours holding up. I need something that is gonna stand up to the woods. Thanks in advance.

I used a roll on bedliner on mine and it's been holding up great in the woods over the past 3 years. It comes in a spray form also which I've used to touch up around the edges which get the most abuse.

problem is is - if the base is chipping away.... anything put on top of that is tentative...
How about finding another top...... they are a dime a dozen behind any good cart shop

I didn’t know how much they would be, changing my roof to black in color. I’ll have to make some calls. Thanks

Do you remember the brand name you used? And has it faded bad over time?

Called a couple places and they don’t have a used black one, I have a couple more places to call tomorrow. In the meantime I decided to power wash the old one. Some of the paint stuck VERY well cause it’s a pain to get off. Bought some spray on bedliner to try also.

If you were able to get that much paint off by pressure washing, I would have to say it needed more prep work. Sanding or scuffing is necessary, but more importantly is to wipe the surface down just before you shoot it. Sanding just moves the oil or other contaminates around, It does not remove them.

I use lacquer thinner and paper towels. Then don't touch it with bare hands as the oil in your skin will contaminate the surface and the paint will not adhere well.
