1996 Ezgo DCS F/R Switch

Hey guys I have a 96 Ezgo DCS with the manual bell type F/R switch. I would like to change it over to a newer style rocker switch. Any ideas of the best way to go about this with out having to use a HD reversing contactor?

I got mine from cartsunlimited.net it’s #5 under the “battery meters” tab. It’s came with a voltage meter and key plate. If you already have a meter you can get the parts separate but I don’t know the numbers. I have not had the time to put mine in yet and it’s 100 outside everyday.

Read this thread. There is another one for dcs but I can’t remember who did it (maybe sir Nuke?).

Ok ive got it wired like Scottyb's diagram. Power on org/red wire and red pin 9 J1 connector with key off or on. Controller only powers up when switch in forward. But cart will not move in either Forward or reverse.

Ok played with it and found a loose wire. Fixed it and only have forward now no reverse?

well all I can tell ya is that I bought the CC switch that has 6 posts on the back and I wired mine up like the diagram that JohnnieB posted in that thread....worked first time.

Its wired like that, I have the six pin too. middle hot and left and right sides are forward or reverse. even getting signal to controller when switch is in reverse but no controller power. Only in forward does controller power up.

This switch is 2 switches in one. Each row of 3 pins is a switch. If you power up the front center pin then power out on the 2 front outer pins - leaving the whole back row empty. Or vise versa

Do you have the little diode on there?

Does the alltrax XCT 48400 controller need to be wired any different for the rocker switch?
