Default Battery Type Needed

I am new to this (golf cart fenom), so please bare with me. I just got my first golf cart. I have been needing one for a long time. $200 I had to buy it. But the one I got doesn't have a lot of power and I think the batteries are shot. It was sitting in a barn for about 10 years. One battery was unhooked and burnt out (please see attached pics). The ones in it are 6 volt, but I have read that I can run 8 volt or even 12 volt batteries. The Manuf Code is A1388 and I think that means its a 88 model E-Z-Go (even though it has a Yamaha roof) I bought a used 8 volt battery for now to replace the one burnt out.

I was just wondering if anyone here knows the exact type of batteries I can use.

Also, does anyone know if I can put a small bed (like a truck bed of sorts) on it? I'm wanting to do some upgrades later on...

Thanks in advance for any help..

That’s a 1988 Ezgo Marathon resistor cart. With a Yamaha G22 top. You need new battery cables also.
