Battery Cable Question
I have a 2010 EZGO PDS that is used strictly on the golf course every weekend. Batteries are 4 years old and still going strong. I need to replace a couple of cables due to corrosion.
Would it benefit me to replace the 6 ga. cables with 4 ga. cables since it is used only on the golf course, or would you just replace the cables with 6 ga. and keep going? Thanks in advance! |

Re: Battery Cable Question
The 4 gauge is generally more expensive than the 6ga. If you are an efficiency nut, any energy not making it to the motor is probably keeping you up at night. Well it's not quite that bad, but you get the idea. If the price difference isn't too much, get the 4ga. Any heat in the cables is energy lost not making it to the motor

Re: Battery Cable Question
I'm no expert but would think if your only replacing a couple of cables with 4ga. wires " I need to replace a couple of cables due to corrosion" There would not be any benefit.
Replacing all of the 6ga. cables with 4ga. would be beneficial. Just my 2 cents. |
