controller smoke

Hi, I have a 2005 Ezgo TXT PDS 36v golf cart. My controller is smoking and I get 4 green led flashes then 7 red led flashes. It smokes when I barely push on the pedal. The motor has not worked since the smoking started. Any ideas? Thanks for any help.

You must have an Alltrax controller. Is your solenoid clicking?

soleniod is clicking and it is a alltrax.

The Alltrax has a 2 yr warranty
What is the manufacture date of this unit?

You'll need to send it back to Alltrax so they can pump some new smoke back into it.

I don't think the op understood the date question. Cart is a 2005. LetLuce1 look on the controller itself for some markings. May need to put a mirror under it to read them

Replace the smoked DCX controller with an XCT.

Check the motor first.
If it is a stock PDS motor:
A1 to A2 ought to be 0.3Ω to 1.0Ω
F1 to F2 ought to be 1.0Ω to 2.0Ω
A1 to F1 ought to be OPEN
A1 or F1 to case ought to be >5MegOhm.

When I exploded my stock PDS motor, the magic smoke escaped from the DCX controller also.
