New F/R-Controller, and solenoid. Now nothing
I had an overheating F/R switch on my 96 medalist series cart. I replaced that. Then my controller and solenoid were smoking hot. I bought new parts for those and installed them. Now when I move the F/R the battery state light doesn't turn on(it used to).
I also put back in the overheating parts to diagnose, and it is still dead...so I assume I have another fried part... Is there a safety fuse etc, I don't know about? Could it be the diode or resistor? I have new batteries and all voltages measure 39.9 on pack to 39.7/8 at f/r, and controller. But my cart is now dead. Please help. My wife and kids are trying to get around the campground and are stuck trying to borrow transportation. lol |

Does the solenoid click when the pedal is pressed?

Re: New F/R-Controller, and solenoid. Now nothing
B+ has to go through 4 switches to energize solenoid, so follow the red highlighted circuit on the attached schematic until you find the missing voltage.
Reed switch is the most likely suspect. Bypass it as shown on attached photo. |

Cart is driving again, but the solenoid smells like it is about to catch fire, and is SUPER hot. Cannot touch it after a 1/2 mile. Any ideas?

Re: New F/R-Controller, and solenoid. Now nothing
Usually it's a bad connection on the cable end, but it could just as easily be the solenoid.

Re: New F/R-Controller, and solenoid. Now nothing
I was just told cart is all good now - Found several hard spots in the cables. Have wires for everything, but all except motor leads have been swapped. Solenoid was actually ok.
Thx for help! |
