To Shock or not to Shock
I have a 2002 Ezgo Txt PDS 36V. It is not lifted. The cart seems to be a little bit of a rough ride, could be the way they all ride with factory shocks not sure. But I was wondering if I buy new shocks will I get a much smoother ride? I want to lift the cart but will not be doing that for a while. So does anyone know if I will get a smoother ride with new shocks, do I need a certain type or brand and I want to be able to use the same shocks I buy now for when I lift the cart later? Or will simply lifting the cart give me a smoother ride? I know that’s a lot of questions but I am simply looking for a way to get a smoother ride. Thanks.

It does have a rear seat. I’ll count the leafs when I get home.

Re: To Shock or not to Shock
"Smooth ride" is subjective for each person. Lifting alone won't give you a better ride. These are simple suspension systems. They won't be real smooth even brand new.
If the shocks are more than six or eight years old it can't hurt to replace them. Use rear shocks from a 1972 Pinto from Monroe or Gabriel. If you lift it, except for a long travel kit, these shocks will work with the lift kit too. |

Re: To Shock or not to Shock
No idea for a Club Car. Only one friend has a CC, a carryall, and I haven't had to spend any time under his cart. Thankfully he is the one friend who is a mechanic.
We have a Monroe shock spec catalog in one of the stickies in the modified cart area I believe. It lists shock mounting types, closed and extended lengths, etc. Many people have matched up shocks that way. If you do find a physical match try to pick the one that works on the lightest automotive application. You don't want shocks for a 1 ton 4wd pickup. |

Re: To Shock or not to Shock
I just put on a pair of Gabriel 81270 shocks on the front as suggested in another thread. I was hoping for a smoother ride. I got just the opposite. I rattles everything out of the glovebox now. The "almost" didn't fit as well. I think I am going to put them on the rear as I have a seat and could probably use the stiffness there but I think I am going to put an OEM shock on the front.
