Default Voltage reducers....limits on how many?

So just a quick question. I'm fairly decent when it comes to electricity, but I'm noticing a trend with some of these reducers claiming to output 30A loads on a 12awg wire. Now 30A requires a minimum of 10awg wire to supply that type of load. Amazon descriptions arent always the greatest and I noticed that with a reducer that I just picked up. What kind of reducers are you guys running in your carts and are any of you running more than one to compensate larger loads? Aside from LED lighting, body lighting, usb chargers, etc., I wanted to install a fairly decent sound system (within reason of course), but I feel I'm going to overload the average 20-30A setups that are out there.

Everything you listed except the sound system (amp) is about 5 amps total. LEDs and usb are very amp usage friendly stuff. I see no reason you cannot use 2 12v reducers on one cart. Be sure to get the type that turn on/off with the key or similar switch.

I have a 30amp reducer running my under body LED’s and my stereo. Stereo consists of 2 class D amplifiers, one 4 channel kenwood and one 5 channel precision power. My cart has 6 speakers and a 12” sub. Lights on and stereo blasting some bass heavy music the total draw is ~20 amps on the reducer. The key is the class D amplifiers, they sip power in comparison to the older class A/B amps that would require 4ga power lines. I’m using 12ga for my amp power wires.

I have an EZGO OEM Reducer that runs the lights, turn signals, horn, & radio.

I recently added a small 10 AMP at 12 volt reducer to power the radio memory, vs. powering it off of battery #4 of the pack.

Things work just fine.

I don’t know the that I need anything more. I did it because the EZGO reducer is connected to the solenoid and powers off with the key switch, which I like. The second reducer is unswitched to maintain the radio memory.

What brand reducer are you running? My biggest thing is proper wire sizing for the correct amount of amp draw. And you're absolutely correct about Class D amps, clean power at lower consumption. But who knows, maybe I just need to invest more in a different reducer by a more reputable company.

I bought mine at carts unlimited, 30A with the remote turn on and constant 12v output. Also remember with the wire size the actual length of the wires. When your dealing with only 2-3’ wires you will be surprised what it is rated for.

Note.....
30A output reducer may only pull 15 to 20 amps MAX... from the batts.

48v in requires less amps in than the rated current output. (roughly the same ratio as the voltage difference)

30amps at 12v is pulling only 7.5 amps from 48volts. Even less with a fully charged pack at 50.9v
