Default My cart seems slow

I changed all 4 batteries on my 48v rxv earlier this summer. The cart seems a bit slow at cruising speed. Does the controller reset to default/airport mode when the batteries are disconnected?

No it does not, but if you did not follow the proper procedure of safing the controller (switch to tow with key off, remove battery cables, then reconnect cables when done and switch back to run), you could have corrupted memory in the controller that affected the speed setting.

Thanks for that. It's hard to tell because our carts are governed (private camp ground) and when we had ours speed checked the batteries were dying. I have no idea if it's slower than last year or if I'm just remembering wrong. :)

The RXV is speed regulated and capable of going much faster than the maximum setting. Speed is not based on battery voltage, so unless something happened to the controller, it should not have slowed down after a battery change. Maybe someone that used the cart swapped controllers with yours, or plugged in a handset to change the speed setting? Where are you located?

I'm in Ontario Canada.

I measured the speed and I hit 18 km/h (12mph) today which is about as fast as we are allowed to go here.

Your cart appears to have been regulated.

A golf club fleet cart is usually programmed just shy of 15 MPH (Roughly 24 KPH). Carts programmed to freedom mode will go just under 20 MPH (Roughly 32 KPH).

The cart is capable of speeds over 30 MPH (48 KPH) but that requires special programming.
