Default 1995 36v nor working ... No solenoid click

Hey there I have a 1995 ezgo that will not work ... I have 36 volts on the two small terminals of the solenoid and the positive side of the solenoid ... And nothing on negative side .... When I jump the negative battery terminal to the blue wire .. The solenoid engages ... I have replaced controller and solenoid ... It's is a dcs cart and I have noticed the resistor gets very hot when hooked up .... No diode .... Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to BGW
The negative side of the solenoid activation circuit is supplied by the controller at pin 7. See diagram. Remove this wire from the solenoid and put a jumper wire from the Battery B- to this small solenoid post. If the cart then runs, the controllers are bad.

I have replaced controller ... Thinking that was the issue ... I have noticed that if I wiggle the 10 pin connector the first wire arcs on controller ... Red and yellow ... Could this be a bad wire somewhere?

Also when I do jump the solenoid the cart still doesn't move ... Sometimes it will go forward but not reverse ... I can hear the motor trying

Is there a way I can test motor? Could motor wreak controller even after a new one is installed? I installed a refurbished Curtis controller and solenoid still did not engage
