Default 2014 RXV Build Progress

What an adventure! The original 2014 RXV base cart came from Puerto Rico, according to the country club sticker that was on the hood. I sent the controller to BobBoyce (thanks Bob) he was able to determine the controller was bad before it went back into the cart. They're replacing the cart with another, hopefully not one that came from Puerto Rico.

So, the only thing moving along nicely so far is the tire/wheel installation and stereo install.

This cart will have (2) JL 6.5's with a Bazooka powered sub between the seats. I'm going to try and run the 6.5's on the head unit pre-amp but will likely end up installing a small amp to power those later.

We expect the House of Kolors Candy Blue body panels back this week and the seats are at the upholstery shop and due back early next week.

These are 14" wheels with 20.5" tires. I'm told this is the largest we can go without wheel spacers and/or a lift kit.

I purchased and returned a RXV with a 6" a-arm lift that was extremely unstable, it felt like it was going to roll over at any speed over 20 mph. I'm going in a completely different route with this build.

I put a set of 14" rims with 21.6" tall street tires on a non lifted 2014 RXV. I did trim the inner rear fender at the back and had no rubbing. BUT, the suspension had nothing left in it with that large of a tire and it was the roughest riding cart I've ever driven! It looked great though!!

If a 14X21.6 rides rough, I can only Imagine how rough a 14/205-40 would feel.

This is my first build and I went with 14" TEMPEST Machined Aluminum Wheels and 205/30-14 Low Profile DOT Tires so I could avoid having a lift.

Am I going to regret this from a suspension standpoint?

I had 205/30-12 and they rode hard. I knew very bump in the road that I drove. Went with 205/65-10 and they ride way much better. It gets down to what you want nice looks or nice ride.
