Default 2008 RXV Won't Go

2008 RXV has no movement. battery voltage is 52.5V with 2 year old US Batteries. Run/Tow switch to tow, key in Neutral and you can push the cart. Run/Tow switch to Run, Key to R with buzzer and no movement. Key to F buzzer sounds and no movement. Key in Neutral and no movement. I checked the switch on the gas oe3dal and it seems to be working. I cleaned the spring and shimmed it but still same problem. BTW, it still has the original brake with the arm on it. I
Looks like it's failing the power on self test and not unlocking the . The strange thing is the reverse buzzer sounding with the key in Forward.

Thoughts?

There was another thread, not too long ago, where the same problem was described. When I find it I’ll post the link.

Sounds like the motor speed encoder bearing...

Bob, that would cause the backup alarm to sound in forward and reverse?

If the bearing encoder has no output at all, yes. The bearing encoder has two seperate 1/64th revolution outputs. If both are out, the expected response to even 1/128th of a motor revolution does not occur... The RXVs are rather limited in the immediate responses to issues, other than shutting down. An older RXV handset will increase the diagnostic abilities of your 2008 RXV. Since you don't mention it is lurching, that rules out a twist test failure. So it could be a solenoid, open or shorted Motor Brake, HPD (high pedal disable, ie pedal encoder values out of range), throttle or brake switch, motor temperature sensor, motor speed encoder, or a bad controller. Motor speed encoders of the bearing type fail more often than most other items listed except for the motor brake. Harness corrosion is a common failure in the earliy RXVs as well, but that does not usually result in beeping..

Thanks Bob, I'll see if I can get it to the dealer to hook up the handset.
