No forward speed

Have a 1984 Ezgo Marathon, after a full charge I have very little forward speed. When taking off, good start up speed but then falls on its face. Reverse speed doesn’t seem to be any different, has good reverse speed. Tested all batteries and lowest one was at 6.01 after charge, this is a 36v system. Any and all help appreciated.

We need to get the voltage when you are driving in forward at full speed. You probably can get your meter leads to stick in the charge port to get overall voltage.
