I need someone to help push it on.I have been reading about "Freeedom mode" and bob has peaked my interest in the faster speed. The dealer told me that the RXV has more torque than a TXT. is something wrong with my cart or can it not go up the ramps on its own because of the simple fact its an electric cart? Like i said first cart and i dont know much about them.

raising the speed is not the solution to your issue. It's the 23" tires that has reduced the torque so much that it is affecting your ability to climb the ramps. While we can reprogram the stock controller to deliver the full rated current, the loss of torque from 23" tires is greater than we can fully compensate for by restoring the nearly 30% that is missing. We typically upgrade carts with 23" tires to a 350 Amp upgrade controller. The stock controller was designed to drive tires up to 20.5". I have written custom maps for RXVs with stock controllers, for tires up to 21". These can hit speeds in excess of 35 MPH! But they cannot be tuned that precisely via mail. It must be done in person so everything can be precisely tweaked to the actual tires on the actual cart it will be driving.

so i just looked at the controller and its a 235Amp 48V Curtis. If i get a 350Amp it will be able to make it up on its own? will the new one need to be programmed? faster speed would be great but im ok with how fast it is now. i would really just like to be able to load it onto my truck without assistance.

The 350 Amp Curtis upgrade controller is programmed identically to the 235 Amp stock controller. The same 30% applies, but the default higher amperage allows the 350 Amp controller to deliver 252 Amps vs the stock controllers 169.2 Amps.

To get the full rated max of 235 Amps (stock) and 350 Amps (upgrade), both types of controllers require some reprogramming...

Maybe contact usgicollector.
Hey Bob Aaron (Hopstraveler) is in need of your services not mine. He's wanting you to program his controller.

I’m interested in having my controller updated. How do I go about doing this?

Hi all,

Reading this thread with some interest - I have a 2009 RXV, it currently runs on 14" wheels with 22/30/14 street tires, no lift kit as the golf course wont allow lifted carts.

It currently runs at around 23 mph on the flat and pretty well up most hills, but who can turn down more speed!

I assume nothing is free, so the faster speed will lessen the run times - what sort of impact does the reprogramming have on battery life and run times?

2009 is wrong year to do the reprogram trick to. Yours has the danaher controller, not the Curtis controller. But, with those (too big) tires on there, you might get a "opportunity" to upgrade the controller soon.
