RXV Rear Axle Leaking
I have what looks to be a pressure relieve cap on the top of my rear axle just to the drivers side of the rear differential. I have not added any differential fluid to the cart since I purchased it two years ago. For some reason now it is starting to seep diff oil out the vent cap after driving the cart. Anyone have any idea why? I can't even find anything about this relief cap on the axle in any of the owners or service manuals I have found let alone anything about diff oil leaking. Any help is appreciated.

Re: RXV Rear Axle Leaking
Part number 620357 Axle Vent. Is there any damage to it?

Re: RXV Rear Axle Leaking
No apparent damage that I can tell. Just seems odd that it would start seeping oil out of the top of the axle all of sudden. Thanks for the part number. I will start with replacing it and see if that was the cause.

Any idea where to find that part? I tried searching by part # and description and can't seem to find it anywhere.

Re: RXV Rear Axle Leaking
I'll find you an alternative part number, and another idea for you to try. Be Right Back...
Ok, Yamaha used Dana axles too, and here's the Yamaha part number for that vent. JH7-G5619-00-00 Here's my trick- I remove the existing vent, it just pries straight up out the hole. Clean it up, then pop the cap off. I put the new vent in a short piece of fuel hose with clamps, with the base of the old vent in the other end of the hose. This spaces the vent up a little. Put a little silicone on the base before putting it back. |

Re: RXV Rear Axle Leaking
I am striking out here with both those parts numbers. Still cannot seem to find a replacement part. Anyone have a link they can provide with a replacement?
