Default 2010 rxv in Birmingham, Al anyone with a Danaher handheld?

Hey guys

I’m new to carts and to the forum... I bought a fixer upper 2010 rxv that I wanted to see if anyone was in my area would help me increase the speed on it. I have a local dealer that I may take it to if there’s no other forum members in my area.

Also looking for a few used parts if anyone has any parts vehicles.

Thanks in advance!

Be aware that a Danahar car can only get to 19.5 MPH. There are no secret software hacks to make them go faster. You can get a conversion kit to get a Curtis AC controller like newer RXVs have, which, depending on what type of programmer/tech person you send it to, can go anywhere from 25 to possibly 37 MPH.

I didn't know you were in Birmingham. When you asked for programming help, I thought you were further away and were wanting to mail the controller. What sort of parts are you looking for?

I’ll post a list shortly but taking a beater cart and trying to make it a little nicer to use in my neighborhood.

Bob if you are ever passing through I’d love your input on it.

For Curtis upgrade I’ve looked at re-pin of wiring harness posts but what’s a reasonable way to buy a good used controller?

Ahh ok. I totalled a 2012 RXV and still have a lot of the parts. I picked up a stripped 2008 flood RXV 2+2 and converted its Danaher harness over to Curtis. I used the Curtis from the 2012 in it, and now it's converted to a lithium pack.

I get out that way from time to time, usually on programming trips. I have the Danaher RXV handset, so I can set Freedom Mode. To do anything more requires a Curtis controller.

I buy them from eBay when I find a decent deal, or if I find a new one that is a model number that I do not already have in inventory. I just bought a brand new RXV Elite controller earlier today. I had to check with the seller to be sure it is what he claimed it was. He sent me a picture of the controller to verify it was, so I bought it right then. The price for something like that is not reasonable, but you can find used controllers from time to time. Watch out for those guys that are selling "Freedom Mode" controllers for $89 or $145 on eBay. You have to send them a controller to set it on...

If all else fails, FSIP sells them on eBay for $495 + shipping. Less expensive than buying from E-Z-GO.

Hi Byran. I live out in Pell City and just got a 2008 RXV that already has freedom mode set up danasher controller. I am still really new to this would really like to get 25 to 30mph to use on the streets. I have been trying to research the Curtis upgrade. Have you decided what you are going to do? From reading old post look like a new harness, 618950, and a curtis is controller is what we need. To get the most out of the cart.

Bob,
What model Curtis controllers should we look for on ebay for the early model year RXVs?

You can use a Curtis 1206AC-5201, or 1206AC-5211. You can buy a 1206AC-5201 here...

https://www.ebay.com/itm/152355026624

You can convert your existing Danaher harness for a lot less money than a new harness...

Thanks Bob, I have read your very well documented conversion, but I am a little hesitant do complete the conversion. I have never repinned a couple and I don't want to risk missing up a controller. I am fairly mechanically inclined but electrical component always get me. Where do you get the new coupler that goes to the curtis controller?
