Sometimes the top restraining clamps attach to the windshield, sometimes they attach to the roof supports.

My windshield used to rattle a TON. It ended up being my windshield was old and flexing in the middle. The solution, buy a new windshield. I had the correct parts and I was even considering adding another piece of acrylic to it, but in the end just opted to buy a new one. No more issues.
