36 volt ez-go charger ????
I am in the process of upgrading my cart to 48 volts. My question is this.I have found a used yamaha 48 volt charger at a great price. The plugs on the end are not the same as my 36 volt ez-go.Can I just put my plug of my 36 volt charger on this 48 volt charger and it work ok?

I would think it would work, like you said, just make sure positive is on the right side. And the Yamaha plug has only 2 terminals like my ez-go has.The Club Car plug has a 3 wire plug for it's carts.

if nothing else, check old plug before cutting, write that down, then check with new plug, if everything is same and you use the one with the two wires, all should be good!! keep us posted

Re: 36 volt ez-go charger ????
Look closely at both plugs. They should be marked pos and neg. If not follow the wires on the cart recepticle... THey are very interchangable. If the yami has no markings google the model # for a wiring diagram that will tell. ( or find a yamaha cart and look under the seat) Don't cut the ends off open both plugs and do the switch......Good luck

Re: 36 volt ez-go charger ????
Golf cart charger will not come on unless plugged into the cart and senses the proper voltage. So NO, that will not work.

Re: 36 volt ez-go charger ????
If you take the cover off the charger, you can jump out the switch, and the charger will come on to check voltages for polarity. I disconnect the wires from the switch befor jumping them out.
