Default Solenoid is dropping control voltage

I have just "completed" a 48v upgrade on my cart, but it's not working.

When I press the gas pedal, the solenoid engages (dvm reads pack voltage across control lugs), and then kicks out (0v across control lugs).

New Alltrax controller flashes 3 green lights signaling 0-5v settings, and then goes solid for as long as the gas pedal is pressed, but the cart doesn't move.

If I let off the gas pedal, and press it again it will do the same thing. I can do this repeatedly over and over. Solenoid Always comes right on but kicks right out.

Will the alltrax kill the neg. Side of the solenoid if it has a problem? Anyone seen this before and know how to handle it?

Thanks,
Jason

Definitely not one of the experts, but I am probably one of the only guys still up. (West coast)

What type of cart and drive type?
What all did you upgrade with the move to 48v?
Did you upgrade the solenoid too?
Are you still getting pack voltage on the small terminals when you lose it on the big lugs?

I'm no expert either. In the middle of building a cart as well.

First thing I think of with what I have seen be a common issue on here with these upgrades, is did you install both the diodes, in the correct direction?

Maybe post a picture of the solenoid wired up so the experts on here can see.

It's an ezgo mpt. Basically a txt. It is a series system.

I upgraded the motor, controller, solenoid, wire set, and f/r switch (to a reversing contactor)

Yes

No I'm losing pack voltage on the small terminals causing it to drop the solenoid.

Also, may be this will be needed info.

The wiring diagram that came from the kit contradicts the one that came with the Alltrax controller. I have posted both here. Can someone tell me which is correct in terms of the b+ connection on the controller. One has it going to the motor, the other has it going to the reversing contactor.

Currently I have b+ wires to the motor, but I get the same result either way. The solenoid loses control power.

Thanks

Doesn't an MPT have an ITS throttle? Alltrax should flash 4 green.

Set throttle to ITS in toolkit software.

Yes it does have ITS..The controller has ITS written in marker on the side and came pre set up. But it sure flashes 3 times. So maybe that is it. Do I need to change it on the programming side.

Well, I don't have the software memorized and rarely look at it as my cart is a series also. I believe there is a Throttle type box you can check on one screen. Make sure the software saves the changes. Also my Alltrax is an SPM, predecessor to the SR so no doubt similar software but might not be identical.

Got the computer hooked up to the cart, but it won't let me change the throttle setting.

I think you need to contact Alltrax tech support now.
