Default All HD F&R switches created equal?

Just like the title says, are all Heavy duty F&R switches created equal? I see them all over the internet at all different prices, some high and some low. Just wondering if any one is different than the other and why?

Thanks

No they are not created equal, some are basically stock except for the name.

The one that Carts Unlimited sells has the largest contacts and heaviest bus bars.

Also, you night consider replacing the problematic mechanical F/R switch with a reversing contactor

Thanks for the information. I think I'll stick with a good HD F&R switch for now. I'm not one to abuse any of my toys and I know the limitations of what I'm building. I'm sure the reversing contactor is better, but I just don't feel it's necessary.

I burned thru (literally) 3 HD F\R switches. Then I upgraded to a Super Duty reversing contactor.

The problem with the "standard" type of F/R switch is that no matter what you do.....it's the weakest link in the power supply. After I did the upgrade....and that was at least 3 years ago.....I've had no issues with the "fresh smell of rubber burning."

Albeit, I don't know how ScottyB makes money on a product that last a really, really long time!!

I've had Scotty's HD F/R switch in my Medalist for 5 or 6 years with no issues at all.

That’s good enough for me, I’ll be sticking with the HD F&R switch.
