Default 2000 EZGO TXT PDS Freedom Plug question?

My cart has the freedom plug installed. I've been using it to hog hunt at night in an area that is flatland along the MS River. Mostly just riding around on roads at night riding up on Hogs that I take out with my night vision equipment. Anyhow, would I benefit and save the cart some wear and tear by removing the plug and essentially putting it in "all terrain mode". What affect would this really have on performance? Is it just going to throttle it down speed wise and have no real effect on torque at low speeds, since it doesn't have anything to do with gear ratio and only affects the motor controller. I've never run it without it, so I don't really know what to expect. Just wondering if it would be easier on my cart to not be running with it, since I'm mostly just easing around slowly at night. I'm running the stock 18" tall tires. The battery life I'm getting with those US2200's is amazing. I rode around 5 miles the other night and still was at around 70-75% battery life remaining. The motor was hot, but you could still keep your hand on it.

Would add more regen braking when not applying the throttle, would reduce top speed, would not affect torque in any way. I don't think it would get you any benefits, unless you like the idea of more regenerative braking when not on the gas pedal.
