Txt charging issue
I have a 2007 txt. Batteries are 2 yo Trojans and are testing 5.8/5.9 and good and clean and so are wires. I’m gettin 35v at cart plug (I assume they’re a little low because it needs charging) and the rad socks are clean inside and out and polarity is good from plug to batteries. When I plug charger in all I hear is a click from the charger. This happens even when charger is not plugged into wall outlet. Checked everything on charger itself and even replaced circuit board but it wasn’t that. What am I missing? It’s driving me crazy!!

Re: Txt charging issue
Your batteries are deader than dead. Have you kept them topped off with distilled water and charged after every use? You say the charger clicks, does it show amperage, or indicate charging via LEDs?

Re: Txt charging issue
If the solenoid is clicking, I feel your batteries are plenty high enough for the charger to activate. I would check for power at the outlet (and try a different one/no extension cord). If that gets you nowhere, I would be checking the relay in the charger.

Re: Txt charging issue
Yes batteries have faithfully been maintained. Distilled water added when needed. I also tried plugging my buddies charger into my cart at his house and his charger did the same thing mine is doing. Drove cart lastnight and batteries are definitely in need of a charge but I noticed the charge indicator on cart is showing they are almost fully charged, but it definitely isn’t.

Re: Txt charging issue
Did your friend's charger hum? Check if your charger has a fuse.

Re: Txt charging issue
What is make/model of your charger?
What is make/model of your buddy's charger? Does your charger charge your buddy's batteries? If your charger and your buddy's charger both charge your buddy's cart's batteries, the problem is in your cart's charging loop. |

Re: Txt charging issue
Ok I am getting a charge with my buddies powerwise now. It did not work before as this was the first thing I tried. I have the identical charger. I can’t explain why but who knows. I tested my charger according to a you tube video with a multimeter on several different points. Obviously I missed something although I did replace the circuit board..
so my charger just clicks when I plug it in.... talk about frustrating! Any ideas on that? |
