Default DPI gen 3 never shuts off

After a full night of charging. Is this normal? The charger stays on even if I unplug it from the cart.

Pack voltage is 57.5 and they’re boiling like crazy.

What voltage is the charger? Looks like the green light is on. Interesting!?

The green light is on but the charger runs and runs. It’s a 48v charger on the Trojan algorithm.

Also, the charger won’t even start unless I plug it into the cart before the wall. That seems unusual. It runs as soon as I plug it in but it won’t start putting out any voltage until I unplug it from the wall again.

Definitely doesn't sound right. I have had to change the board in mine, but it just wouldn't come in at all.

Strange. I just got this one used and this is how it was. I had another DPI a while ago but I don’t remember it acting up like this.

Contact DPI. They were very helpful with me.

When I had the charger I always plugged it into the cart first then the wall AC. Just the way I always done it for some reason. Never tried it any other way.

It would hum for a few seconds (15-30 give or take) then kick on and start charging. It would charge up to, IIRC, 62-63v with the "power on" and "charging" light illuminated, then float at 57-58v with only the "charged" light illuminated.

I had it always set to the US Battery mode so I don't know if that makes a difference or not.

LukeL, PM me if I need to do anything to make this right.

I can try the US battery mode. The strange thing is that it’s not shutting off. Would it shut off by morning for you?

Yes, it would quit charging and be in float mode only "charged" light illuminated. Very low amperage (needle would be on 1 amp maybe) charging when i would go to disconnect.

Also, charger was ALWAYS disconnected from wall power when not being used to prevent any power surges or lightening strikes messing it up.
