Default Why is this thread not showing up with the recent ones?

http://www.buggiesgonewild.com/elect...ml#post1534146

I posted yesterday between 5 and 6.

I am having trouble identifying some wires on my charging connector.

If I remember correctly the triangle socket has red, black, blue, and a grey wire/sheath that has two wires in it. The grey is the thermistor to monitor the battery temperature when charging. If it is gone then the factory charger probably won’t work.

It's in the electric ezgo forum on the second page two or three down from the top. You posted it 35 hours ago. I bumped it to the top so you could find it

Sounds almost right. I took some screws out of my charging connector to see what's what.

Red to battery +
Black to batt -
Blue to main contactor
Two conductor grey - might be for an LED in the socket. Looks like an LED anyway.

Only 3 conductors coming from the battery charger, which is a PowerWise QE

Read above. Grey wire is for the thermistor for battery temperature.

Yea, I saw it, but I am hard to convince.

1 - there are not enough pins in the charger connector.
2 - what powers the LED in my connector?

I did not want to side track the other thread that I asked general question in, but the I think that the blue wire in my cart does connect to the contactor.

Is there a schematic that shows all of this? I have not found one yet.

Thanks

There is a blue wire that does connect to the contactor but it is not the one from the charging socket.

There is a circuit board encapsulated in that rubbery coating. I posted pics of that charge port all naked in the past. I can confirm the grey wire-thing is for a temp sensor. You can hook the 2 little wires inside to a 10k resistor to trick the board into thinking temp is ok.

Great. Thanks for that tip. Standard 1/4w resistor ok?

I have been scratching my head trying to understand that connector. My testing with a wiggy and meter where not really making sense. Some of my checking seems to indicate there is a capacitor in there somewhere. The circuit board certainly explains that.

With my wiggy and meter, the red wire(48v+) shows continuity with the socket closest to it. But with the blue wire right next to the red wire, I am unable to read any sort of connection with it and the 3 terminals. The black wire(ground-) on the other side shows continuity with the terminal right next to it, but ALSO continuity with the center terminal but after a brief delay - with my wiggy. But with my meter, not showing anything to the center terminal.

and nothing on either of the smaller thermistor wires.

I mentioned my blue wire going to the contactor - I was mistaken about that. My blue wire connects to a red/orange wire in the cart harness which you say goes to the controller. The wire on my contactor is red only and was showing continuity. However, I disconnected it from the contactor and confirmed it was a different wire, as there was no longer any continuity shown.

Thanks
