Default Another possible RXV charger issue?

I think my Ezgo powerwise QE charger is taking a dump. Saturday morning I found a fault code of 3 red flashing lights after charging overnight from a round of golf Friday. Also the battery cables were warm to the touch. Checked the voltage, it was 50.4. Played another round of golf Saturday without any issues. Sunday morning I plugged it in again and everything seemed fine with only the green flashing charge light on. Concerned that the charger wasn't working properly I checked it few hours and it seemed to be working but the batteries seemed to be boiling a lot more then normal. Disconnected it overnight just in case. Monday morning I checked voltage 50.6 and had to add a lot of water to all of the batteries it has been less then a week since I filled them. I am concerned that the charger is not shutting off or floating when charged. Should I be looking for a new charger?

THREE RED FLASHES - Battery Charge Timeout:
Charge time 12 hours exceeded. This may indicate
a problem with the battery pack (old battery pack) or
that the charger output current was severely
reduced due to high ambient temperatures.

At 50.4v that's only 90% charged. I would be getting voltage readings before, during, and after charging. Then wait 12 hours and get your final reading.

Just how old are your batteries?

Thanks for the response. I have the cart charging now. The reading before I plugged it in was 50.1, I just checked and the reading currently is 59.1 it has been plugged in for about 3 hours. The batteries are 3 yr old.

I update with the final numbers tomorrow.

Charger should charge to about 60-66 volts before shutting off.

Well I guess that the batteries are getting weak. The readings were 51.5 when the charger went full green and now 50.4 after being unplugged for 14 hours.
Thanks for your help.

Are you saying the charger never got above 51.5v while charging?

No the highest reading that I saw while charging was 59.1. The 51.5 was after the green charge light stopped flashing and went solid green.

Well that sounds right. Put your dvm on the battery pack and take a ride. Keep an eye on your meter and see how much the pack drops under load.

I was able to take it on short run just now 51.5 starting and dropped briefly to 48.6 under full power then climbed back up to 50.6. I am going to a golf course tomorrow that is very hilly and will see what it does on the hills. This is ware I normal drive it.

Thanks again for your help.

Finished running around the hills on the golf course. The reads were 50.9 sitting, 48.3 average on level ground, climbing a long hill it would drop to 45.6 and slowly climb back to 47, going down hill the highest reading was 55.4.

I guess everything is checking out.
