Low voltage code on ‘12 48V TXTE

I have a 2012 48V TXTE that keeps throwing a “low voltage” code on the handheld. The batteries are 2016 Powertrons that I charged overnight and have load tested and none are dropping more than .5V. I toggled the profiles and put it in freedom mode with acceleration on “4” and braking on “1” so this should have plenty of get up and go but it doesn’t and immediately after taking it off of charge it’s throwing a “low voltage” code. Has anyone else had this issue? Any help would be appreciated thanks!

The reason those changes do not work so well is there are master settings at Factory and Development level that must be turned up first, and Freedom mode must be turned off while doing that, then turned back on afterwards. I do these TXT48 controllers often...

So you’re saying that my changes may have not taken affect? Any idea as to why it’s still throwing the low voltage code?

The changes took, but those lower level (OEM) settings cannot override the higher level maximum settings above them. Example...

Say your OEM Accel rate is adjustable from 0.4s to 30.0s and it is set to 0.4s, the maximum Accel rate.

The maximum Accel rate at the Development level is set to 1.6s and the maxumum Accel rate at Factory level is set to 2.0s...

This means that even though you cannot see the Development or Factory level menus, they override the 0.4s OEM you are adjusting, so the quickest you can Accel is the 2.0s rate. No matter how low you set the OEM one, the higher level ones override the lower level one. It takes a Development level programmer, and the knowledge of what to change, to really up the performance of the RXV and TXT48V or TXT72V controllers

Now for your undervolt issue... if your batteries are not able to deliver the maximum current that the controller is trying to deliver to the motor, the voltage will sag and can cause this undervolt condition. Also... battery cables that are too small diameter can cause excessive voltage drop, which can trigger an undervolt condition. There are settings in the controller that might not be set correctly, indicating an undervolt condition when the voltage at the controller input drops below 40V. This is very common when you are trying to hop up the performance of the controller. When I set a controller to deliver 100% of its rated current, I usually set the undervolt threshold down to 24V to prevent these errors from occuring when a hard accel is done. I recommend 4 guage minimum and prefer 2 guage cables for any controller that I reprogram for performance.
