Default RXV Accident

A friend of mine had a mishap involving a 25mph cart and a 10x10 fence post. No need for the "he's an idiot" comments please. I'm just trying to help get it straightened out... the piece that the front top strut mounts to, steering shaft, entire dash, ect, is bent. I'd say its 4 inches or so pushed up and back. We tried 2 5,000lb ratchet straps hooked to my truck and around the bent frame, cranking the ratchets. We got it straight but as soon as tension was released it bent back... we may have made an inch of progress but not nearly enough.

2 questions...
Would a frame shop get it straight?
Anyone have a spare rxv frame laying around?

if you can find a small shop, they may mess with it.

My buddy's daughter hit a tree in his C.C. we took it to a friend that had a frame machine and got it straight.

It took some time. You may need all the new parts so it can be pulled to fit.

Theres a frame on Ebay right now for 500 plus shipping. I think for that price I'd just make a down payment on a new one lol. But I hope your buddies ok looks like a hard hit. Hope he gets it's all worked out no matter what he chooses to do.

Yeah, but it is welded to another section behind the dash. We could get it grinded out but couldn't re-weld it...

If the part you are talking about is number 3 in this diagram it looks like it bolts to the frame but it isn't cheap.

Wow. At those prices $500 for a whole frame sounds cheap.

How soon does it need to be fixed? I'm assuming there are a range of dates that would fit. You might get lucky and find a whole cart that would work, if you had the time to look.

Crazy question. Since carts are a lot more popular, with more and more cart friendly communities. Are there any auto salvage yards that might also carry dead carts? I know there are a number of large retirements communities where there's a cart in nearly every garage.

My damaged RXV frame has a lot less damage than that one. It hit a tree in about the same location, driver side front tire.

I tore it apart and used it for parts to rebuild a replacement. This is what the front of the frame looked like. I gave up on waiting for the frame shop to get it done so I picked it up and brought it home! I bought a frame for $250 to replace it.

What year was the RXV and where are you located? The year matters because the RXV frames changed over the years...
