Default First Cart

We live in golf course community that has lots of golf carts, golf cart events, etc. Most people get around on a golf cart. My family has been bugging me to get a golf cart. I've looked around at the used market and things seem either way over priced, or junk.

So I found a 2007 EZGO 2007 TXTEFSEPDS 36V in pretty good shape for $1,500. Seems like a good starting point?

I just want something with some pep, 25mph (speed limit in neighborhood), seats four, looks good, and reliable.

Was thinking of the following (apparently I cant post links yet):

#6 conversion kit from carts unlimited
570 amp peak output
-*High amperage XCT48500 Alltrax control with 2 yr warranty.*
- Optional cooling fan installed
- High amp 400/1000 super solenoid
- Complete high amp 2 gauge welding lead cable set .*
- High amp Admiral B2 motor with 1 yr warranty

Jake's EZ GO TXT Electric 3" spindle lift kit

EZ GO TXT Heavy Duty Rear Leaf Spring kit

14" GTW Specter Wheels/ 20" GTW street tires

GTW rear flip seat

Trojan T-875 x 6

Puts me at about $5k all in. It is my understanding this route would get me a faster cart than buying a newer used stock 48v cart is that correct?

Thank you.

Well, its stock slow, and needs batteries. Maybe not immediately, but the ones in it are 6 years old. I don't plan on throwing money at the cart. I want it to be 25mph zone, seat four people....is there a cheaper way to get there?

I am in Florida too, south Florida. I've been looking at craigslist and some local dealer websites.

Since you are in FL you won't be climbing any mountains.
You may do quite well with the stock motor on 400 amps.

My 2011 EzgoTXT with an Alltrax controller is plenty fast. I dialed back the max RPM to 5600 and on 23" tires that's 31.5 to 32mph. over 30 is not comfortable for me, I'll dial that back to 5500 and try again. I did convert to lithium which is fun, but completely un-necessary to get 25mph. Like CTD said, you may be able to get what you want with fewer upgrades or find one already done for you.

OK gotcha. So maybe a stock 48v cart with a new controller/solenoid, lift and taller tires may net me 25mph?

So look 2010 and newer ezgo and they will likely be 48v?

Getting to 25MPH with a sepex drive (either a 36V PDS or a TXT48 ) is fairly easy and relatively inexpensive. Both stock motors (with their respective stock battery packs of 36V and 48V) will spin at about 5600RPM when the 4400RPM limit of the stock controller is removed by installing an Alltrax XCT controller. At 5600RPM, a tire height of 18.7" will yield 25MPH.

I just finished a project very similar to what you're wanting to build. I was able to find a 2010 txt 48 for $300. It had no batteries and had been sitting a while but overall was in pretty decent shape. I went with the same upgrades you're describing and getting 28mph with 22" tires and 4" lift. I added the on the fly FNKS and it works really well. Tons of torque and plenty of speed for me.I was able to scare my wife so mission accomplished.
