Default TXT48 motor swap

I am wondering how much labor is involved in doing a motor swap on a TXT? The YouTube vids I have found show the entire rear body removed prior to swap. Is this necessary? Would a lift giving access from the underside make things easier? Trying to determine if it’s a DIY for me or do I just have the dealer who has a lift do it. Depending on the answer I may upgrade sooner than later.

Motor is above the axle. Remove center cover and you have access to the 3 bolts the hold it to the differential

You can see it through the basket in the attached picture

Doesn’t look too bad. I have a rear flip seat though. I suppose I can take some pieces off to access from above as shown. Is removal of the bag well liner a big deal? With that out it might be easier to maneuver the new motor in. I see why some motors have built in handles now.

The rear seat makes it harder to get to.

The motors weight 50 pounds or more.

I made a cradle out of rope and used a chain fall to lift motor out.

I took off my seat and took out all the bolts from there and then just climbed under the rear of the cart and took the motor out. I have a 6" lift kit, so I didn't even need to jack it up. Very easy job and only took me a total of 10 minutes. I have a series cart, so it may be a little different.

I think I jacked mine up and used straps, supported by 2X4s to support it while I lowered it down. I'm almost certain I decided that was overkill, and just lifted my replacement one.

I took the whole rear axle out, 4 bolts and two nuts and it rolls right out (oh and disconnect the motor)
