TXT 48V Travel Range
Have a 48V TXT - New Trojan T125, 2 Gage cable, MZJ400 solenoid, Plum Quick -Bandit Motor, Altrax DCX 500 Amp Controller, 23" Tall tires, Stock Gears. 31.5 MPH/GPS. Range is approximately 13 miles when the battery pack hits 50%. Motor runs a little warm - 200-220 on a long haul. Batteries are new and on there 7th charge. Distance seem right? Thought I could travel farther.
Testing new Altrax XCT 500 Amp Controller and Plum Quick Barracuda Motor Next Week. Hoping for more torque/speed less heat. |

Re: TXT 48V Travel Range
one more piece of info......what type of terrain do you deal with.....is it FLAT, HILLY, or something in-between?
My cart is about like yours, you can see my set-up in my sig, where I live its flat as a board....my range is roughly TWICE yours plus a little more. OH AND BTW.....Welcome to our happy little corner of the net, and to BGW. There is a BIG fridge on the back porch with anything you can think of in it...help yourself...of course only take what you can LEGALLY have. Make yourself at home on one of the big fluffy couches, kick your shoes off, put your feet up on one of the tables, yes we are allowed to do that, mom's, wives’, husbands, girlfriend’s and boyfriends here don't care....and take it easy. oh...btw....every once in a while a food fight breaks out...so you may not want to wear nice clothes here. Welcome!! |

Re: TXT 48V Travel Range
13 miles on new T-125's "feels" about right. I only assume you are driving on smooth or "rolling" terrain and your temp's are above 65 degrees F.
When I installed my T-105's in 2012, I got 12 miles on that type of terrain. FWIW |

Re: TXT 48V Travel Range
Thanks for the info and warm reception. I'm in Fla. Flat as a pancake. Temps in the 60's or so. Hoping range will increase a bit as batteries break in. Will be interesting to see how new controller and Barracuda motor compares to current set up. Think the bandit motor is working a bit hard to move these 23" Tires.

Re: TXT 48V Travel Range
Be sure that motor is never too hot to hold your hand on - What map is loaded in the controller?
Can you collect and share a monitor file for his cart? Is regen enabled or disabled? |

Re: TXT 48V Travel Range
Hi Scotty, I have an IR temp gun so I can accurately measure motor temp. I wish I could tell you which map was loaded. It was in the cart when I bought it. Probably not the ideal map. I had QP turn the motor into the Bandit motor. Speed is good but I would like additional range. The new controller has the Barracuda Field Map already loaded. I'm told the combination should work well but I'll have to test next week when the motor arrives. I believe the regen is disabled on the current set up. I would be happy to share the "Motor File" for this cart but someone will have to tell me how this is accomplished. I have zero experience with this.
