Ezgo electric cart wiring issues
Thanks for the add btw. Just bought an ezgo out of somebody’s yard and it definitely has some wiring issues. It is missing it’s id plate so I don’t know the year or the model, it’s a 1996 and up by the body. It’s 36 volt and is a series wiring I think. I really need a good wiring diagram for the switches, solenoid, and speed controller(or whatever you call it). I really can’t tell what is missing and what is wired wrong. Any help is appreciated.

Re: Ezgo electric cart wiring issues
If you go to page 10 of “my 36v txt build” you’ll see a wiring diagram i posted that’s easy to follow. I’m on my cell otherwise I would post it again.

Re: Ezgo electric cart wiring issues
The problem with that diagram(I found that one before), is that I don’t have the A2 spot on the controller. I can’t figure out where the power comes from to excite the solenoid. I know it grounds on the battery- on the controller but I can’t figure out how the solenoid could get power.

Quote:
Attachment-1 is a schematic with the solenoid activation circuit highlighted. B+ source is the positive terminal in the charge receptacle, then through the reed switch, but reed switch is a high failure item and many people by-pass it as shown in attachment-2 Next in line is MS-2 on the F/R assembly, then the keyswitch, then the pedal switch and finally the solenoid coil. |

Re: Ezgo electric cart wiring issues
Ok so I tried using that diagram how you described, and it seems to have immediately welded the foot pedal switch(brand new switch). Any ideas?

Re: Ezgo electric cart wiring issues
If you have a diode installed on the solenoid's small terminals (coil), it might be installed backwards.
Also, what do you mean by "welded"? Do the NC contacts in the pedal switch stay closed when lever is pushed? |

Re: Ezgo electric cart wiring issues
I mean that the micro switch plunger is stuck in. I do have a diode on the solenoid but I don’t know which way the stripe should go for sure, I thought it went towards the rider side.
