Default Lost volts and speed 2008 RXV

I was riding around today and had a power problem. Everything started out normal but within 3 blocks volts were down around 35 and speed was half. As I headed back to the house volts and speed picked back up.
As soon as I got to the house I cleaned the 2 year old battery connections and checked voltage on each battery it all looked good. I took it a test drive an volts stayed around 36 at full throttle

That is way too low for an RXV. The low voltage detect/error code level is at 40 Volts on both controller models. On a Danaher controlled RXV, it goes into limp mode when it drops below 36 volts. On a Curtis controlled RXV, it goes into low voltage cutout when it drops below 40 volts.

As mentioned in your other thread, tire size is inversely proportional to motor speed. It is also proportional to the motor current required to reach a given speed. As motor current rises, voltage drop rises. Other negative factors rise as well, such as motor temperature and controller temperature. The RXV was designed for tires no larger than 20.5" tall with the stock controllers. E-Z-GO sells a 350 Amp upgrade Curtis controller for use with larger tires and better hill climbing ability.

Way, way too low. I'm surprised you made it home.... Listen to Bob, he knows. I'm just confirming that those numbers are way too low. The Rxv doesn't respond, or act like any other cart that anyone ever offered before. It's smart, sometimes too smart. So, you can't compare its reactions to low batteries to any other cart you might be used to seeing. It won't "just get you home" when the 48v pack is at 24v... Also, time to study up on just what "full" and "dead" means when it comes to golf cart batteries. You have serious battery issues, you have one, or more totally bad batteries, and a Rxv won't tolerate that.

What voltage did you see when you checked the batteries? Compare it to the State of Charge chart below to determine how "good" they were.

You will want to consider doing a load test on the batteries as one or more may be dropping out (internal shorting) to see the very low voltage of 36 volts.

What make and model of batteries are you running?

The batteries are 2 year old trojan t-1275. When I got back to the house yesterday I put the cart on the charger for about 30 min then unpluged it and let it stand for about 5 min then checked the volts
13.00
13.00
12.89
13.01
I chargerd the cart overnight and plan to unplug and let lt stand 10-12 hrs to get a true reading.

Then go for a 4 mile run and check each battery again for the voltage.
