Mega Start batteries?
A local ezgo dealer has a picture of a large display of Mega Start batteries on a web site. Not much to be found on the net about them. Looks like they are mostly sold in the Southeast. Anybody have any experience with them?

No, but the name alone would concern me. Mega Start sounds like a cranking battery, and not a golf cart battery. The stated uses sound like a cranking battery.
Even deep cycle batteries can be wrong, as a golf cart battery has to be designed and built for sustained high amperage discharge. |

I was thinking maybe an automotive battery co that has gotten into golf cart batteries but thats just a guess.

Their website clearly states, "Every day, thousands upon thousands of school busses, delivery and work vehicles, and personal cars and trucks depend on us to get them started."
http://megastartbattery.com/products.html doesn't mention golf carts. |

Looks like they make batteries for everything but golf carts but the web site seems to be 5-6 years old. I called to ask about golf cart batteries and was asked to take a recorded survey before I could talk to anyone.That ain't gonna happen.

Maybe a few gullible buyers unaware of the deep cycle
capabilities on a cranking battery. "Just look, they saved me $10 per battery on a set of golf cart batteries !" |
