Default Ezgo rxv shutters start and stop

48 volt 2008 rxv with four new fully charged batteries, New solenoid, New electric brake but still shakes a little or lurches at start or stop. Will run but shutters when accelerator depressed or when first coming to a full stop. Occasionally beeps consistently even with full charged batteries. Lurches\shakes when accelerator pressed and then finally takes off at normal speed. Then shakes a little at a full stop. Anybody ever experienced this or have any idea what might be wrong?

You mentioned that you replaced the Motor Brake, but did you use the right one? Most people buy the HD (Heavy Duty) Motor Brake thinking that it is better, but it is not. You MUST use an OEM Motor Brake on that RXV, and follow the install procedure to the letter or it will quickly fail again! This is the correct one to use...

Thanks Bob - I used an OEM replacement solenoid and brake. The problem I have existed before the new batteries, brake, and solenoid and continues now.

What year is the RXV, and where are you located? It sounds like you're in need of a diagnostics session. Just changing parts trying to find the issue is not the best way. The symptom points to Motor Brake, but many things can cause the Motor Brake to not pass the powerup test. Blown fuse, bad connection at the run plug or socket, harness corrosion, controller issue, ect.

Bob, any thoughts on motor brushes? I know those can cause lurching / stuttering on starts when going bad. By the life of me I don't know how that could impact the issues during stops but I don't know these carts as much as I do some others.

Shudders? As in moves very slow? Like 1 mile an hour?

We need to run diagnostics. 2008, unless converted would have a Grey Danaher controller.

Absence of diagnostics, I might look at the bearing encoder.

Jk - literally shakes the whole cart a little, lurches forward or backwards a little even if not depressing the accelerator.

That symptom is not motor brake... it sounds more like oversized tires affecting the motors speed sensor calibration! An RXVs factory calibration will only accept tires up to about 20.5" without causing issues like you are experiencing. The newer Curtis controllers can be recalibrated, the older Danaher controllers are not so configurable.
