Default Two Questions (Melex 151)

I want to thank PGGroves for setting me straight on how to test the motor in my last month question. That led me to understand how the motor is internally wired and consequently how the whole cart is wired.
Looking at the wiring diagram, there is a half circle symbol with two electrical connections. I am assuming it is a buzzer, (not existing in my cart), that is activated when there is a neg voltage at A2 (Rev mode) and when the solenoid is not activated, motor not running.
My first question is : what is the purpose of this buzzer, if it is a buzzer?
The second question is: there is no fuse/circuit breaker in the whole system. Would not be a good idea to have one? I think I am going to install one anyway.
Just like to hear an opinion.

You're quite welcome.

What diagram are you referring to? Can you post? From your description it sounds like the reverse buzzer which is a safety device to alert the operator and those in proximity that the cart is in reverse.

You should enable and keep it in working condition.

That's all I'll say. The last time I posted about reverse buzzers didn't go very well!

IMO, never a bad idea to protect circuits with appropriately rated fuses. Some good reading here.

Sounds like you are making good progress! Keep it up, and of course, we'd like to see some pictures of your project.

Good luck!
