Default CD player mounting

2010 ezgo txt I am currently installing a CD player into the ball holder on the dash. Just wondering if anyone has and ideas to anchor the deck better to prevent it from sliding in or out. My friend has been dealing with that problem and I don’t want to be in the same boat..

Is there a hole for a bolt in the back of the CD player? If so you can use a bracket to secure it to the body with rivet gun or bolt and nut. If not you may have to fabricate a bracket that will fit.

I had mine in the ball holder, just like you mention. But one day I hit a speed bump a 20 mph and the stereo fell out, taking a little of the plastic by the ball holder with it. Now I can't get it to stay in the dash.

I am thinking about mounting it on the underside of the roof in something like this:

A CD Player? Seriously? Not the greatest idea on a golf cart, thing will be skipping all day long.. Go bluetooth speaker, much better option. Listen to your CD's in your den while smoking a cigar and sipping bourbon ;)

I did an overhead console for player and speakers. I don't recall the CDs skipping, but I use the Aux input and radio more than CDs.

My CD player came with a plastic piece (or metal, can't remember) with adhesive, to attach to the console and bolt to the back of the unit. Doesn't move at all. You could probably use one in your installation.

Try Googling car radio installation.

I suppose it depends on the surface of the road / trail / goat path you’re driving on, but we don’t even try to install CD players anymore. Every system we install has Bluetooth and jacks to plug in phones, flash drives, mp3 players etc. Most of the surfaces we have to deal with would prevent any cd from playing properly anyway. The added weight of the cd mechanism would make it harder to hold still in the dash anyway.

The most often use of my CD player was for a block party. Plus, if you drive on rough surfaces you still have AM/FM/BT. Neighbor has a Bose BT speaker that's pretty awesome though. I have a Bose Soundlink Mini II which is nice, but his Bose isn't made anymore and is much larger.

My Bose soundlink is more often used for other things so it doesn't live with the golf cart. As a result, I'm likely going to install another car stereo in the cart.

I used plumbers strap on my previous setup. The flexibility gives you more options of where to bolt or screw it down.

Yep, I got a copper roll of that. I've used it on everything but plumbing, kinda like duct tape 2.0

Haha. Same here. I’ve had some in my garage for as long as I can remember, and have used it quite a few times, but don’t think ever on plumbing.
