Default Scratching my head, need help

Spinning my wheels on my cart, hopefully someone can help with advice!

I have a 2006 EZGO TXT Series 36v cart, last month I got stuck in the mud' but I was able to free myself with a lot of back & forth movement and got the cart back to the trailer to load. Turned it off to ready the trailer and when I tried to start, the solenoid just clicked and would not move.

As I began to troubleshoot using the EZGO troubleshooting matrix I found several microswitches bad, one in the pedal box and one on the FNR module. Replaced with new ones, same result solenoid clicks. Checked the solenoid and everything read out as advertised. Read a few threads here and looked at the Reed switch so I hard wired it...same result solenoid clicks. Other than the microswitches nothing else seems bad so I Contacted the controller mfgr and they provided some additional TS tips that indicated I had a bad controller so I sent it to them for Test & Advise. Just heard from them that the controller tests good. I feel like it might be in the FNR module, but can't find any specific TS info on it other than a visual inspection in the ezgo matrix.

It'll be a few days before my controller gets sent back so hoping to get some ideas here. Sorry for the long read, I appreciate any help!

My first call would have been F&R. You can check for continuity but if the switch shows any sign of color change at any of the 4 terminal studs it is most likely toast. See examples below.

I checked voltage to the FNR per the TS matrix attached and had proper voltage and visually inspected it while installed. Should it be removed for better visibility and inspection?

Are you sure the solenoid is OK? Clicking doesn't necessarily mean closing. In addition to the FNR melt down ScottyB posted, I also managed to melt a solenoid, with all stock, just abusing them.

If your solenoid turns out to be bad, I have a HD 36 volt one I could ship you for the cost of postage. Already got my money's worth out of it.

With mine, and the pic ScottyB posted, you can see one or more of the posts are discolored. May also see cable end discolored/damaged due to heat.

In other words, you may be able to tell without removing.

I checked the solenoid for continuity and proper voltage, it checked good. Thanks, I will keep that in mind as I go down this road again!

Kinda contrary to my last post, just because you get continuity doesn't mean you have a good, low resistance connection, so FNR could be bad and test good. A visual inspection may be necessary.

Ok, I will definitely take a closer look at that...Using a flashlight and looking down on it I may not have gotten the best view. Thank you!
