Default Looking for a RHOX Lift part

Anyone know when i can find a part to the RHOX 6 Inch Spindle lift kit? I reached out to RHOX directly and they sent me to their resellers and they are unable to get the part and I would have to replace the whole hit.

The part I am looking for is the rear Shock Mount Plates. The part that the shock absorber attaches to on top of the rear leaf springs and blocks is severely bent and would need to replace both.

Don't ask how they bent. I do not know, I brought the cart like this and didn't notice it until I got it home.

Can they be repaired? I don't know what they look like, but often bent metal can be unbent and have a stiffener welded on it, for rigidity. If it can, look around for welders, machine shops, fabricators, etc.

I have added addition pictures I took from tonight to the album.

I got under there and looked at the shock absorbers as well as leaf springs. Trying to figure out what is going on here.

When driving at low speeds I notice from the rear drivers side area a sound that is best described as paper rubbing up against a bike spoke.

It looks like the leaf springs definitely need new bushings (added to the shopping list). I cannot for the life of me tell if the springs are Heavy Duty or Standard.

The shock absorbers look batten and bruised.

And then obviously the shock plates need to be replaced.

There is also a picture of how the rear of the cart sits. you can see the passenger tire is completely worn down and the inside of the drivers side tire is worn down.

On the front side it looks like everything seems pretty good. But I do get alot of shake in the wheel when going at higher speeds. I plan to adjust toe in but of course want to sort out the rear suspension first.

Any thoughts, insight, opinions will be greatly appreciated.

I have attached the maximumn number of pictures to the post but there is additional on the flickr site below.

I don't know anything about lifts, but...

On your second to last pic, it looks like the shock may have bottomed out, causing the part to bend. If that's the case, you may need different shocks or leave the piece, as it has conformed to the cart as modified.

Wow! That's pretty crazy how badly those are bent. Looks like someone has severely overloaded the cart, and proceeded to bottom out, possibly on a number of occasions, while someone was holding their beer?!?!!?!?

I would start by taking the rear shocks off, and seeing if they are warn out. If they are, see about replacing them with shocks that have the bottom mounting point that will work with the style of mounting plates that crash test showed a link to.

In addition, those leaf springs look to be warn out. Would be a good time to replace them while swapping out the new shock mounting plates.

As for the rear tire with excessive wear on the inner tread. Have you checked to make sure the lug nuts are all installed in the correct orientation? Seen where folks don't install them conical end toward the wheel, causing wheel/tire to not seat flat. Just a thought. Any of the other tires showing this kind of wear?

Thanks BBHC,

The excessive wear is actually on both rear tires. I will have to check the lugs to make sure they are installed properly. I am hoping that is a combination of the springs, shock and mounts.

As for the Shocks and springs, it does look like someone with joy riding without a care in the world.

Looks like Springs, shocks and mount plates are in my future.

I just read another solution.

I spoke with Barry over at DIYGolfCart and he told me that I definitely have stock leaf springs and to replace them with Heavy Duty or Dual Action Heavy Duty. Since I will be putting on HD leaf springs, then I would not need to have shock absorbers installed at all. And if that is really the case, I would not need to replace the shock mount plates. I can just remove the shocks and leave the plates as they are since I would still need a plate there to whole the axle and springs together with the u-bolt.

Does that sound right guys?
