Default 2016 EZ-GO RXV AC Motor?

Hi all. First post. Looking to purchase an EZ-GO RXV from an individual and trying to find information on RXVs. Do they all have an AC motor/drive? I really want an AC motor to be able to haul around up to 4 adults and up some slopes without bogging down too much.

The cart I'm looking at is a one owner 2016 RXV. Can I be assured this is an AC drive? The owner doesnt really know.

Thanks again

Jon

Thanks for the quick reply.

Anything to look out for? Its not that old and is single owner so I took that as a big bonus (not being fleeted). Has the following options from the CL ad. Pretty sure its all stock otherwise

"Cart has low hours only used around the neighborhood. 6 inch lift, Custom 14 inch wheels with 23 inch tires, Color changing led light kit under the cart, headlights, taillights, horn, and windshield. 5500($200 extra with cover)"

I just registered today so I cant post links yet into my replies. Its listed on jonesboro ARK CL and its red with a 6" lift. I live in the greater STL area and would have to drive down and pick it up so I havent seen in person. Just curious if there are any issues or trouble areas I should inspect before I had over my cash.

Ask him when/how he charges the batteries. Should be after every use. Take a volt meter and check individual batteries' voltages. Check water levels, to make sure they've been properly maintained. Look at the zerks, to see if they've ever been greased. Ask if he changed rear end oil - don't know frequency for RXV, but it is 3 years old. Make sure all electrical devices work, horn, turn signals, brake light, etc. Test drive, and see if steering and brakes work at high speed.

Maybe try and find a manual for an RXV and see what all routine maintenance is required and at what frequency, to ask if they were done. Receipts are good.

If it has the stock 235 amp Curtis controller still it your going to have to get the 350 amp Curtis controller. That 235amp controller just not going to handle all that cart.

A 350 amp Curtis controller will probably run you a least $600.00. Bob Boyce here on the forum can program it for you.

Do a search on Bob and you'll see he's the number one in programming these controllers.

Thanks for you input! When you say "just not going to handle all that cart" what exactly do you mean? Sorry I know nothing about golf carts other than how to drive them.

The cart is lifted with 23" tires and you want to ride four people around up and down some slopes. The stock 235 amp Curtis controller just can't handle that much. Sooner or later you will blow that controller up. That cart needs a Curtis 350 amp controller. Like I said Bob Boyce will program it to your needs for you. And it will do everything you have talked about wanting to do.

Thanks for the information. Very much appreciated, you guys are great. One point of clarification....are you suggesting I am asking too much of this cart overall? Or that with a new controller all is good? Thanks again, I'm excited to own one.
