Default An answer to "how far will your pack take you"

I've done some estimates of speed 'n distance doing various calculations to determine how far my cart will go on a charge. Now, I know things like temperature, hills, and terrain will affect the final outcome......but I downloaded a bicycle app for my iPhone that will give me speed 'n distance.

I took a very short ride today (only .4 mile) and (finally) got what my top speed is......20.3mph and my average speed was 6.7mph.

My next outing will be a long one to determine how many miles my Lithium pack will give me until re-charge time.

well after I built my cart, and had the batteries broke in.....this us what I did. I have a 5.5 mile course around the outside of my subdivision. I am on flat ground, everywhere, and its all on streets. So I take off and run at full speed (other than going around corners and stopping at intersections)....after two laps (11 miles) I stop at my house and let the cart rest for 30 minutes. I take off again and after two more laps I stop and let the cart rest for an hour.....I have a digital volt meter on my carts dash so I never let it get low......after the 22 miles, my SOC was 73%.....so I took off and made another lap, let her rest 30 minutes.....the SOC was 65%....26.5 miles.....so I could get a bit more out of it if I would run at slower speeds, like 1/2 or 3/4 throttle.....so I estimate my true total range to be between 28 and 30 miles.

On my cart, 36v, stock internals - my estimated range so far is about 25 miles. Batteries are 1.5 months old and range seems to be increasing...

Granted this is in FL on relatively flat terrain in 70-80 degree temps.

Maybe.....bring 'em up here and take a ride in the hills 'n mountains at 23 degrees. If you get 6-7 miles it will be a good day!!!

For hunting I leave the Honda Pioneer at home and use the electric CC DS for reduction of NOISE ....... they can not hear me going in and out unless they are real close to me, at that point they would see me anyway.

Yup. Smell and noise......two things you really want to NOT take to the hunting woods.
