Default 96 ezgo

i recently bought a 96 ez go 36v ($300.)
it needed a new steering rack. (ive replaced that $40.)
it needed a charger (ive got that now $50.)
the batts were made in aprl 04 and wouldnt kick on the powerwise charger
but would take a charge off of a 12v car charger. the charge would only last a bout 5 to 10 mins. so i bought new batts yesterday put them on and the cart wont budge. the charger will kick on now. i had it charge all last night and nothing is diffrent this morning.

any help is greatly apricated

YEP! A meter is a quintessential neccessity for every Sparkie owner.... second is the hydrometer and or a cheap loadtester such as HF sells. We await your test results.....

38.7 is a VERY full charge....Check the microswitch at the F&R switch it should have power in and power out when the cart is put in gear with the key on? It will have a little audible click.....if it has continuity then proceed to the solenoid.
With the cart on jack stands ..... put a jumper cable across the 2 large terminals on the solenoid. If the cart works remove the cable and replace the solenoid. Do not run with the jumper on!

It's quite evident that the controller is completely fried... Look at the pictures - the casing is melted!

Also, the reed switch wire is not hooked up - It is the wire (small) coming from the DC plug recepticle... It goes to the F/R microswitch
