2004 PDS drive train issue

Good morning all!
Been a while since i have been on here. Took a drive in my cart the other day, and it slowly lost forward momentum! I can hear the motor turning, but no go!
Just wondering if this is something i can fix, or if i need to take it to the shop.

Pack voltage 10-12 hours after a full charge and under load?

Check the rear hubs. EZGOs, gas or electric, have a bad habit of stripping out the brake drum / hub splines where it meets the axle shaft

Pretty sure it is not the batteries, just replaced them 4 months ago. It appears that what ever the motor is turning-is stripped. Motor turns good, it is not engaging the drive system. I will charge and check the volts anyway. Thanks for the help!

If you can hear it turning and not moving, here's another vote for a stripped hub.

Well, it is not the brake drums. Both axles spin freely when turned by hand, and they also turn when you hit the accelerator.
Anybody know where i can get a schematic of the drive train?

You need to have one person in the cart pressing both brake and gas and another person checking each rear tire to see if the castle nut in the middle of the brake drum is spinning but the drum is not. If the nut spins but the drum doesn't, the drum is stripped.

Spinning the axles by hand won't tell you if the drum is stripped and this is a very common failure point.

Pull the rear brake drums off, them look at the part that slides onto the axle.
No splines, it’s striped and that’s the problem.
Another vote for striped splines in drum.
Repair manuals are in stickies here 😊

I took the brake drums off, and they appear to be fine. What should i check next?
