Default Gray Wire in Plug for the SOC Meter??

I just realized the previous owner put in an aftermarket SOC meter gauge, which is currently displaying properly full charge, and using the black and red wiring from the factory connector. However, they left the gray wire still in the factory connector doing absolutely nothing and connected to nothing. Looks like it goes to pin 11 on the controller. Would this cause an issue? I ask because my cart is not currently moving. If so, what or how should I connect it, and to what?

The controller might be blown due to the previous owners modification. That plug is not to be touched by things not designed specifically to plug into it. And to answer the question, the grey wire is a 0-5v signal from the controller to the gauge. 0v is empty, 2.5v is 50% charged, 5v is 100% charged.

Yeah I have already replaced the controller...and now my battery meter is reading full with just the red and black wires connected to it, but the gray wire is doing nothing still in the old connector....are you saying without the gray wire connected to anything the meter will just always read full...being its the signal wire?

I'm a little confused here...is it hurting being unconnected to anything?

What meter. The only ones actually designed to be used with that plug use the grey wire. Who knows what the deal is with your meter. If your meter isn't designed for that plug, I suggest getting it off that plug ASAP. This is the only advice I have for that plugs use.
