1987 EZGO wirng diagram

Hey everyone, I am new to the golf cart world and I need some help. I picked up a 1987 EZ GO Textron the other day and it was all torn apart. It was an old gofl cart at work that they were getting rid of so they let me have itI got most of it back together but on the "wiper board" there are 4 contactors that go to the coils but there is one red wire at the bottom( I would assume is a positive wire) that I cant figure out where it goes. It runs from the Forward, Neutral, reverse switch to a solenoid and then to a switch at the bottom of the "wiper board" and then on the other side of the wiper board is a red wire that I have no clue where it goes. Every diagram I look at only has the 4 wires that go to the coils. Could anyone help me on as to where this wire would go? Thanks in advance.

We must be working on the same thing I just burned up couple of test leads on the one I'm working on I don't have that wire you have and can't get this thing going. can't locate a print on mine 1988 Marathon????? Was missing a lot of wires, Batteries, tested motor runs, new solenoid, 2 micro switches???? Good luck on it.

Nothing hooks to the first stud on the swiper board it's for the swiper to rest on when your foot isn't on the gas pedal.

Does it have an actual "stud"? Built in spare, but I'm surprised they didn't opt to save a nickle and not have one there.

I just figured they're so cheap they could use nylon instead of copper, but I'm sure that would affect manufacturing costs, one more part to keep up with, two different parts in assembly, etc.

Yeah, I've never seen one before, not up close and personal anyway. I guess I imagined it would be like a FNR; with the studs recessed.

My 1970 Duster had a nylon gear on the end of the distributor. It was sacrificial, to prevent stripping the camshaft. It may not have been nylon, but that's what they called it when mine stripped out in high school, back in the 70s.

As to studs? Dunno. I got a boxa nylon bolts and nuts, up to 1/2". Just thinkin' out loud about how far most manufacturers go to save a buck. A lotta newer cars don't even have a key hole on the passenger door anymore.

My rasing came from when copper was king! The biggest copper mine in the world at the time put dinner on my little plate (back in the day, the mine is closed down now).
