Default On my 2008 TXT 36 Volt PDS

I have a CurtisPMC controller part number with P/N 73326G07.
Is that a later issue that would come on my cart?
Like newer?
Should I be good with plugging in a red speed chip?
Their is nothing in that socket now.
My cart is bone stock except for add on stuff I have added as far as I can tell.
Nothing electrical except for voltage reducer and gauge and some lights.

Same part number on the controller that was in my 2008 PDS when I got it and it was coming off a 3yr lease at a golf course, so I'm pretty sure it was the original.

Be sure to put Run/Tow switch in Tow before doing anything electrical on cart.

I was wondering on mine when I first got into it as well.but mine is an older 2002 PDS...Curtis 300amp..and the previous owner already had the red "chip" jumper installed..the cart , stock motor with the curtis and 6ga cables on 23s lift kit was able to hit the 23ish mph on level ground with the speed chip...didn't seem to have any regen braking though and that gave the wife trouble having to stand on the brake to stop sometimes on downhills.

I would have left the curtis in there except 90% of our use is offroad on our property and I wanted that extra torque that the alltrax 48400 provides..and man is it a great upgrade and now I can/have dialed up the regen braking level to help the wife's driving experience.
