Lead-acid batteries self-discharge, about 1% per day or so.

Also, the controllers in some carts are on all the time, unless the Run/Tow switch is in Tow.

Plus, so cart have voltage reducers for 12V accessories that stay on all the time.

So the question is: How much do the batteries discharge over what period of time?

Also define "fairly new", how often do you charge, and how often do you check electrolyte?

How do you measure voltage, handheld, onboard voltage meter, or bar chart?

Battery age is about two years. Use cart every day for golf. Charge every day. electrolyte - monthly. Hand held voltage meter.

Batteries acquire a "surface charge" while charging, so the voltage measured immediately after the charger shuts off will be significantly higher than what it is a few hours later.

A 36V pack will measure about 45V or higher at charger shut off and about 38.2V about 12 hours later.
